Nina Czegledy

Nina Czegledy, is an award winning media artist, curator and writer who works internationally on collaborative art, art and science/technology, as well as educational, projects. Her lectures have resulted in numerous publications in books and journals. Her personal artistic practice crosses visual and media arts and focuses on the changing perception of the environment and the human body. Her own, and related collaborative, works have been exhibited widely both in physical and on-line exhibitions. Her most recent collaborative art projects include The Visual Collider (Brooklyn USA 2010 and Vela Luka Croatia 2009) Auerole, 2nd Thessaloniki Biennale (Greece 2009) What will you do to cool the earth? Govett Brewster Gallery (New Plymouth New Zealand 2009, (originally commissioned by the City of Toronto for La Nuit Blanche 2007).

In parallel with this personal production, she is well known internatio-nally as a curator of media and new-media exhibitions and has also led, or been a key contributor to, an extraordinary number of workshops, forums and festivals around the world. Recent and upcoming curatorial projects include: Gyorgy Kepes and Frank Malina at the intersection of art, science and technology (Ludwig Museum Budapest 2010) co-curator 3rd Quadrilateral Biennial (Rijeka Croatia 2009) Device Art in Budapest (Hungary 2009) co-curator e-mobile Art, the European Mobile Lab 2007-2009 (an EU project) and organizing team member for Eco Sapiens (New Plymouth, New Zealand 2011). Nina’s contribution to international dialogue and networking has been widely recognized. She is Senior Fellow at KMDI (Knowledge Media Design Institute) at the University of Toronto, Adjunct Professor Concordia University (Studio Arts) Montreal, and an Honorary Fellow, Moholy Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest. She is also actively involved in key international organizations including Leonardo, The International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology where she is a member of the governing board, contributing editor of the Leonardo Electronic Almanac and member of the Observatoire Leonardo des Arts et des Techno-Sciences OLATS scientific committee.
