By themselves, they are responsive poems, aural and visually connected texts, directed animations. This work is not as concerned with the whole, the note button interface, as much as how each hymn creates new methods of understanding the intersection of poetics and interface, the chaotic organic and screen contained movement.

By experimenting with page depth, hidden elements, mouse controlled magnetism and other new techniques, Hymns of the Drowning Swimmer is the digital version of a collected volume, chapters for peculiar and floating songs, gurgled singing from consumptive processes.

Jason Nelson
With work recently appearing in Singapore at the Asian Civilizations Museum, St. Petersburg Florida, UCLA, Hermeneia from Barcelona, Spain, Vancouver Washington, around Australia, and other worldly parts, Jason Nelson is always charmed by how rarely he travels beyond the distance provided by a tank of gas.
